It is summer vacation now and tourist season in Tamil Nadu has begun. People from all over India visit popular hill stations like Ooty, Kodaikanal and Yercaud. The Government is doing its best to protect the environment from the menace of plastic. We invite your suggestions on how to reduce plastic usage by tourists and what are the alternatives. Use reusable bottles and cups
Avoid using plastic straws
Use non-plastic reusable containers for food storage
Bring your own bags for grocery shopping
Switch to bar soap and boxed laundry detergent
Host an eco-friendly birthday party
Use glass bottles or containers for storing the food like
egg,fruits,vegetables,butter,cheese,water,etc...
Avoid using plastic cutting boards and can use wood or glass
Use a reusable cloth bag or old fashioned steel lunch box to
carry your lunch to work
